Renewed Energy

Today was Day 1 of my new workout plan. I was actually looking forward to my workout this morning!! Wow, that was refreshing. I did HIIT on the treadmill today. Here's how it went down:
2:00 Warmup
0:30 @ 8.0mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 8.5mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 9.0mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 9.5mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 10.0mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 10.5mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 10.5mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 11.0mph, 0:90 rest
0:30 @ 11.0mph, 0:90 rest
At first, I was regretting my workout. It didn't feel intense enough, and I felt like it was becoming a waste of time. Once I hit the 4th or 5th interval, though, the regret went away. I still feel like 20 minutes of cardio isn't nearly enough, but I guess that will be true only if I'm not seeing results.

If you pyramid up to that time, should you pyramid back down to the original time, say, in 15 second increments?
